Artist's Comments

Another experiment. This time in stock use. Is it worth it? What can I do with stock images?

I picked a poem by Cummings that has very strong (easily interpreted) visual images.
Edit: I forgot to elaborate on that a bit! The poem can be found online here:[link] It is by EE Cummings, one of my favorite all time poets. All that grammar and punctuation mix up is his, on purpose.

What I decided: There definitely needs to be some standardization of stock rules. Mainly naming of stock! Good grief how are we supposed to find the image again to give credit if you don't name it sensibly! (a "sensible name" has both the stock image title and your deviant ID with both appearing the same way they do on Deviant Art!) Telling me to just fav them in the first place is not good... Because I don't like them for that reason. I want to use them not look at em.
Secondly, I'm going to credit all the images I used the same way. If anyone has an issue with that we can talk about it! I'm pretty reasonable. Personally there should just be one set of rules for using stock. No matter how it is used.
Alright enough ranting

~great poem/imagery~

I like the image great Idea and thanks for using my stock. Now for the Stock nameing I for one have my stock account name so image can be located and then I numbered them more for me to keep track so I dont duplicate. Now When I load the images I place them in catagories under resources then stock and then different catagories under that. I guess I could have placed them under photography and it has a lot of catagories that the Da search engine can identify. I then on my stock page listed the stocks myself like sky and moon , animals, birds and a user can click that with a good idea or what they will find. I will try on my next submissions to add a name after the number and see if the DA search will pick up on it if so that would be Great and I will do that in the future

ah! seriously if I could hug you I would! You don't need to do all that. Honestly yours was one of the easiest to find again! I love you bunches for that comment. The rant was totally not meant for you, sorry. Your stock account is nicely organized and totally top quality images as well. You put a lot of work into it and I appreciated that! My main problem was folks not putting their DA user name in the file name. Try searching for broken glass, or moons under stock. And check the file names on some of em. I passed up couple images because I knew that there was no way I was gonna find em again. In some categories stock is growing faster than actual art on DA. There are some very talented and professional looking stock accounts on DA. And some not. Not all these pics I used were even intended for stock and I recognize that. Sorry to stress ya there!
